  • The first two seasons are so important to developing a good upland bird dog. Especially the first. The key is LOTS and LOTS of exposure to wild birds to hone their craft. A dog can be a protégé on training pigeons, which is great, but it is wild birds and hunting that make a decent dog great.

    Not everyone has the time or ability to get their dog that amount of hunting and wild bird exposure. With limited days afield it is hard for a lot of folks to NOT shot at birds in range that the dog mishandled and should not be rewarded with a potential dead bird / retrieve tore-enforce doing it “ right”. This is where WBDT can help. I can hunt your dog on wild birds, get them the exposure, and see what is going on to come back to the training grounds and make corrections and get them where we want them.

    This can be a weekend, week(s), month(s)- purely custom. Quotes available and space in the string is dependent. I would either need to be working with and familiar with your dog, or an evaluation of your dog and gauge on where and what it needs would be required before taking it on.
